Prepare for Battle

How I shot it

Lens: Canon 50mm f1.4

Always keep your eyes open for good light and take advantage of it when possible.  This light came in through the dining room window and worked very nice with the chess board.  The settings where at ISO 400, f3.5, and 1/500sec.  I exposed for the shadow side which is facing the camera in order to capture the detail in the shadow.  I then made minor exposure adjustments in lightroom as well as highlights and shadows. When setting up shots always take time to think and don’t settle for just the first shot.  I ended up taking several shots before I got this one.  Always stop and think and take it all in.

More like this to come in the future.
